What this site is
myMatchDay is a tool, run by myMatchDay, that lets people organise pickup soccer games. Organisers create games and share a link. Players use that link to register and pay.
By using the site, creating an account or registering for a game, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Organisers run the games
Each game is arranged and run by the organiser of its group, not by myMatchDay. The organiser chooses the place, time, price and rules, books the field, and decides who plays.
myMatchDay does not supervise games, inspect fields, or check the skill, health or conduct of anyone taking part. Questions about a particular game should go to its organiser.
Playing is at your own risk
Soccer is a physical sport and injuries happen. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for making sure you are fit to play and have any insurance you want.
If you register a guest, or a player under the age of majority, you confirm you have the right to do so and accept these terms for them.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
The price shown on a game page is the total you pay. Part of each payment is kept as a service fee, which covers payment processing and the cost of running the site. The rest goes to the organiser.
Your spot is confirmed only once your payment goes through. A spot held while you are paying is released if the payment is not completed.
No refunds
All payments are final. Once you have paid for a spot it is not refunded, including if you can no longer make the game. Organisers cannot issue refunds.
If something has gone wrong, for example you were charged twice or a game did not go ahead, contact support at support@mymatchday.ca and we will look into it. Please contact support before raising a dispute with your bank.
Organiser accounts
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account.
To receive card payments you must complete identity and bank checks with Stripe and accept Stripe's own agreement for connected accounts. Payouts go to a Canadian bank account.
You are responsible for your own games, for any taxes on money you receive, and for dealing fairly with your players. Payments are final, and you must send players who ask about a payment to support rather than arranging a refund yourself.
You must only use the contact details of your players to run your games, and must not sell or share them.
What is shown publicly
Team sheets, results and leaderboards show players by first name and the first letter of their last name. Organisers can choose whether their group appears in search on this site.
Ratings and notes that an organiser keeps about players are private to that organiser and are never shown to players or to other groups.
Fair use
- Do not register in someone else's name without their permission.
- Do not use the site for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone.
- Do not try to break, overload or get around the security of the site.
We may turn off a group or an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.
Our responsibility
The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate but cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, myMatchDay is not liable for injuries, losses or disputes arising from games arranged through the site, and our total liability to you is limited to the service fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the laws of Canada that apply there.
