The short version
myMatchDay, run by myMatchDay, collects only what is needed to organise games: who you are, how to reach you, and which games you played. We do not sell your information and we do not show adverts.
What we collect
- When you register for a game: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and the positions you play. If you bring a guest, their name and positions.
- When you pay: the amount and whether the payment succeeded. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us.
- When you play: which games you were in, which team you were on, and the final score.
- When you organise: your name, email address and a protected form of your password. Identity and bank details for payouts are given directly to Stripe, not to us.
- Kept by your organiser: a skill rating and optional notes, used to make balanced teams.
Who can see what
- Everyone with a game link: your first name and the first letter of your last name, on the list of who is playing, the team sheet, results and the leaderboard.
- The organiser of a group you play with: your full name, email, phone number, positions, payment status, and the rating and notes they keep. They do not see what another organiser keeps about you.
- Other players: never your email, phone number, rating or notes.
- myMatchDay: can see information across groups in order to run the site, fix problems and prevent misuse.
If you play with more than one group, your public results page in one group can link to your results in another, but only for groups that have chosen to be listed.
How we use it
- To register you for games and confirm your payment.
- To let organisers contact their own players about their games.
- To build teams, record results and show records.
- To pay organisers and keep the accounts straight.
- To keep the site secure.
Cookies
The site uses two small cookies and no tracking or advertising cookies. One keeps an organiser logged in. The other remembers you on your own device after you pay for a game, so the form is filled in next time. Choosing "Not you?" on a game page ignores it, and clearing your browser's cookies removes it.
Companies that help us run the site
- Stripe processes card payments and payouts.
- Netlify hosts the site.
- Supabase stores the database.
- Resend delivers the emails the site sends.
These companies may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that country.
How long we keep it
Registrations and results are kept while the group you played with is active, so records and leaderboards stay complete. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. If email is used, it is only to confirm your registration, to confirm the address of an organiser, and to reset a password. You can ask for your information to be removed sooner.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information held about you. Contact support at support@mymatchday.ca. Deleting your information removes you from past results and leaderboards.
We will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
The site is meant for adults. A parent or guardian should register and pay for anyone under the age of majority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. For a significant change we will add a notice on the site.
